Fried Thai - The 'Angrit' version !

'Angrit' is nothing but 'English' in Thai language. As the word says proteins are cooked in deep fried the Western way- Crispy and Crunchy ! The proteins comprise of chicken , fish, shrimp, beef and at some other places even octopus! But when you munch it, it's surprisingly the Thai taste. The procedures may be non-native but the ingredients are completely local. On the whole, this street food is the centre of attraction for the tourists!

The prominent meat is sold is chicken as it's easily cooked and tastes the best when it's crispy. It's fried in the usual cooking oil. This dish is served with red chilli saucy soup- you can ask for a sweet and sour version of it too, if the heat is unbearable. Salted lettuce along with it does the magic of combining the crispy and spicy flavours of the dish- though it's optional and upto you to work on your tastebuds.

Venue  :  Pattaya Night Bazaar, Thailand

Some tourists, especially we Indians have a spicy tongue and would love to experiment the limits of our tongue's reflexes. But we end up fanning it to relieve the burns after tasting the sauce. For such people, including me, I'd recommend eating Potato Fries which is an immediate remedy .

They taste the best when it's hot and at an eatable temperature. It costs a 30 Baht a plate of Chicken, 35 Baht for Shrimp and  25-30 Baht for Fish, depending upon it's breed. A family of 4 can satisfy their tummies with 200 Baht and learning Thai language along with it. :)
