Tawa Pulao : My Invention

       One fine day, my father came home in an excited mood and shouted at the top of his voice "We are going for a week holiday to Maharashtra".
         The movement my father broke thus news; I was jumping on my bed screaming and shouting "We are going to Mumbai". I was in seventh heaven because being a bollywood fan, visiting Aamchi Mumbai, was always on my bucket list. I was laughing from ear to ear with the thought of how much fun I am going to have on this trip.
        After visiting some tourist places  when the clock struck six , we made way to  the chowpatty beach to see the sun gliding below the horizon and to enjoy food there. Juhu beach can be accessed from various ends. The area where we reached was less crowded so we enjoyed sunset and captured the moment on camera.
   
After sunset we were hungry so looked out for food stalls and we decided to go to stall 59 and ordered tawa pulao .The presentation of this pulao made me fall for it even before actually tasting it.
I MUST CONFESS - I stumbled onto the Mumbai Tawa pulao recipe through trial and error and by simply following my taste buds. When I was kid, I used to add ketchul to enhancethe taste of Tomato Pulaothat my mom lovingly served. I even got my younger sister hooked to it. When a friend suggested I added some pav bhaji masala to my ketchup -pulao preparation, the astronomical improvement in taste made me think that I had invented a new great recipe ....till I found millions in Mumbai were consuming it by the truckloads everyday. Accident, coincidence or cosmic connection-either way , the outcome is a one-way ticket to tasty land.

Papad , tomato slices and dahi with oav bhaji masala are served alongside with tge pulao; the papad gives you something crisp to bite along with the soft pulao.
