MADURAI PORICHA PAROTTA AND MUTTON CHUKKA

After a long car travel from Chennai, we reached Madurai. When my stomach was growling and screaming for food.We found this small mess known as the "Amma mess".We ordered the Madurai famous poricha parotta(fried parathas) and mutton chukka(dry mutton gravy). The poricha parotta and mutton chukka were packed with flavors. The parotta had the perfect circles as if they had used a compass; even though the parotta was small it was soft and crispy at the same time, although our tongue asked for more of these being fried it was quite heavy though. An adult can eat up-to 3 parotta's. The wife of this parotta was the mutton chukka. The meat was tender. The spices have been well absorbed by the meat. It was spicy but it was a drool worthy dish. Being a chicken lover, I hated mutton until I tried this mutton chukka from Madurai. I think everyone should try this combo at least once in their lifetime. Both the dishes were oily, was the only drawback. Each parotta costs 15 rupees and the mutton chukka was 85 rupees. The price was fair for the taste and quality of the food.
