Streets bustle with markets, people jostling for space; the aroma of food is everywhere and man pooling rickshaws block the way.....Amritsar is a town that has won the hearts of many. Although it might seem overwhelming at first, few days here and you would again want to come back to this wonderful place.
I went to Amritsar with my family. My mother loves visiting this place again and again only for the 'Darbar Sahib' or 'The Golden Temple' and my father loves to eat food there especially 'langar'.Langar -the food cooked at the community kitchen and served free of cost to everyone.
We went to community kitchen building for food. It was very delicious. Roti and Daal were perfectly cooked and aroma of prasad was so nice. After eating at langar we started for jallianwala bagh. It is just a few minutes walk from Golden Temple.
After that it was lunch time so went to Barhwan Da Dhaba.Amritsari Kulcha with extra butter was yummy .It is my father's favourite dish. After eating kulcha we went to Ahuja's lassi stall. I cant drink more than half glass of lassi as they serve it in huge glasses.
After that we went for some shopping. There were many Kulfi stalls at bazaar. Kulfi wale bhaiya makes kulfi with pure cow milk which is my favourite. For dinner we prefer the famous Kesar Da Dhaba, a legendary eat out which we won't miss whenever we come to Amritsar.
So whenever you visit to Amritsar stop counting calories and open your mouth for a treat !!
